Maintenance and restoration history:
The car has been regularly serviced in specialist workshops since I bought it (maintenance booklet kept). Last oil and brake fluid change in May 2025.
In 2016, the entire underbody was blasted with dry ice, rust removed, repainted and sealed. A panel on the left-hand B-pillar was also replaced.
In 2018-2019, a complete engine overhaul was carried out in Hamburg (invoice available) in which the cylinders, valves and pistons etc. were new and the rest was overhauled. Since then, the car has driven approx. 15,000 km.
In the same period, the 915 transmission was overhauled and the interior was renewed in the same combination (imitation leather/fabric).
In the following years, the following items were also renewed:
The sunroof was removed, overhauled and repainted, including the roof skin. The front and rear window frames, the windshield and the seals were also replaced. A new black headliner was also fitted inside.
- The rear wiper motor was also repaired.
- The heating control system was overhauled
- Heating cables replaced
- Instruments (except the clock) were overhauled
- Headlight reflectors were replaced
- Rear panel and rear lights were renewed
- Front mudguards and hood were painted
- Front brake callipers were replaced
- Shock absorbers and coupling rods replaced in 2025
In total, I have invested around 40,000 euros since 2015.
It's not a trailer queen, but it's a car that you can sit in with a clear conscience and drive from Hamburg to the south of France without having to worry.
I'm only parting with it because I simply don't have the time to drive it anymore.
