We are pleased to offer this very original, first owner/first paint 911 Targa on behalf of one of our customers.
For many years, 2shores has been offering selected, high-quality specimens of collector's vehicles. This beautiful 911 SC Targa is one of those specimens!
Since the Porsche model range already included the 924 and 928, the 911 range was streamlined from model year 1978: the Carrera was dropped – the 911 was only available as an SC and Turbo. The 911 SC had the wide body of the Carrera and a three-liter engine with 132 kW (180 hp) with mechanical K-Jetronic. The car was surpassed in terms of performance and top speed by the Porsche 928, which the Porsche management wanted to replace the 911 in in the 1980s.
In the 1980 model year the performance of the SC was increased to 138 kW (188 hp) and in the following model year 1981 it was further increased to 150 kW (204 hp) by switching from regular to premium petrol. The semi-automatic Sportomatic was eliminated. The long-term guarantee against rusting through of the bodywork could be extended to seven years by using steel sheets hot-dip galvanized on both sides. This was later extended to ten years.
Our offered car was delivered on January 28, 1982 by Rule Dale Auto Plaza in Modesto, California. It was a surprise gift from Rick to his wife Judy, who has cherished this Targa for over 40 years to this day. The car is therefore a first-time owner, with the exception of the front hood, absolutely no repainting required and in a remarkable, original and untouched collector's condition. Black body with black leather interior give the Targa a particularly exclusive appearance.
The body is 100% accident-free and impresses with perfect gaps and still very nice deep paint with a great shine. Paint layer measurement on all body parts is available on request. Some stone chips on the nose and hood are intentionally not spotted or repaired in order to preserve the original impression. 100% without rust or corrosion!
The interior is also completely original and, apart from the radio, as delivered from the factory. The leather of the driver's seat shows a little patina (see photos) and the Californian sun has slightly rippled the dashboard from above, but without cracks or damage. The Targatop is free of defects and fits perfectly. All instruments are functional. Perfect door panels, carpets and steering wheel.
The car has been regularly serviced throughout and the receipts and service booklet stamps date back to 1982. The car drives absolutely fantastic. The connoisseur will notice immediately that this is a very neat and well-maintained example with very low mileage! Engine revs happily through all gears, brakes, chassis and transmission are free of defects.
This is a special Targa, a pristine original from California's first owner with only 65,194 miles. The car comes with logbooks, stamped service booklet, original tools, compressor, jack and spare wheel (dated).
Please look carefully at all the photos of this car to get a good impression of the condition.
