In September 1963, Porsche presented the Porsche 901, the successor to the Porsche 356, to the public at the IAA in Frankfurt. One year later, series production of the model, which was renamed the 911 shortly afterwards, began. From 1969, the engine capacity was increased to 2.2 liters. The 6-cylinder boxer engines produced 125 hp at 176 Nm. The power is transmitted to the rear axle via the 5th gear sports transmission.
