This car has had four owners in total and has always remained registered in France. It was stored for a long period and kept in a garage.
Its most recent owner acquired the car in 2017 and initiated a significant recommissioning project.
This project ultimately led to a full restoration carried out by Garage Original Classic in Mougins, a workshop well known for the quality of its work and its expertise with Porsche models.
The restoration was performed without any budgetary constraints, with one single objective: to return this 930 Turbo to the same condition as when it left the factory.
The work carried out is both impressive and fascinating for any automotive enthusiast.
The body shell was completely stripped bare, with all mechanical components, wiring, fittings, and panels removed.
The shell was then treated with a cathodic electrocoating process before receiving a full repaint carried out to the highest standards, while retaining the car’s original color.
Mechanically, the car has been completely rebuilt. The engine, suspension, and chassis are now in as-new condition. Every component reinstalled on the car has either been restored or replaced with brand-new genuine Porsche parts.
The original engine and gearbox have been retained, making this 930 Turbo a matching numbers example.
The interior upholstery and the convertible top remain original and have not been replaced. A new convertible top fabric had been purchased in anticipation and will also be supplied with the vehicle.
The car retains its original documentation, including the French owner’s manual and service booklet.
We also have the spare key set and a brand-new leather-covered dashboard that has never been installed.
Please note that a running-in service will be carried out before the sale following the engine rebuild, by a marque specialist.
The car was inspected by Porsche Classic Center Luxembourg after the restoration work was completed, and a technical certificate was issued confirming the car’s originality as well as its matching numbers and matching colors status. In addition, a complete file of restoration invoices is available.
Photos of the underbody can be found above in the “Mechanical” section.
In short, this 930 Turbo Cabriolet is a true time capsule waiting for its next owner, leaving Mecanicus’ premises as if it had just rolled out of a Porsche dealership in 1989.
