The vehicle in detail

The 912 Coupe, which is in excellent condition and largely original except for the paintwork, was reimported from California in 2015 and, after decades of storage in California, was carefully restored to roadworthy condition with the necessary repairs.

Meticulous care was taken to preserve as many original parts as possible; for example, the turn signal and taillight lenses were not replaced, and the steel wheels—with their unique “California rust-patina”—were preserved for the future. The same applies to the engine bay—even the distributor cap was preserved!

All technically necessary repair work (brakes, shift linkage, fuel system, etc.) was professionally carried out, and the body’s cavities were sealed. The 912 impressively presents a harmonious and age-appropriate overall appearance.

In many respects, it is certainly very attractive and one-of-a-kind! The engine and the 5-speed transmission function flawlessly. Solid, unwelded body!
