The vehicle in detail

The car is Polo Red (Code 6602) with a two-tone black and beige interior (seats), exactly as it left the factory.

This car is fitted with just three gauges. Standard 912s, up to the 1967 models, came only with a rev counter, speedometer and a third dial indicating fuel level and engine temperature. As an extra, the 5-gauge cluster could be fitted – an option many owners requested – which is why there are so few 912s with just 3 gauges. Other attractive details include the gauges with green screen-printed lettering (pre-’68 models) and the 912 logo on the rear bonnet positioned diagonally, as this is one of the earliest 912s produced.

Restoration work was carried out on the vehicle just two years ago. Below is a full list of the work carried out.

– Full repaint in Polo Red (original factory paintwork)

– Bodywork restoration

– Replacement of seals, trims and bodywork rubber components

– Complete engine restoration to standard specifications (new engine components, bearings, etc.)

– Interior restoration including carpet fitting, seat upholstery, door panel upholstery, boot tray upholstery, etc.
