VEHICLE HISTORY
This 914/4 was produced by Karmann in Osnabrück in June 1972. The vehicle was then first delivered to California in the USA. The 914 demonstrably remained in California for its entire life and ran there on "Blue Plates" until it was exported back to Germany. In 2022, the current owner purchased the vehicle directly from the USA via a dealer and then had it extensively overhauled in our workshop in 2023. The documented mileage on re-import from the USA in 2022 was 94,295 mls. After the extensive overhaul in 2023, this 914/4 was driven a further 5,000 km. The total mileage is therefore approx. 156,000 km. The original last US title from California is available, and all work carried out in our workshop is extensively photo-documented.
CONDITION
This 914/4 impresses with its visually very original condition. The interior is still absolutely original and the leatherette seats show only minimal cracks or damage. The body substance can be described as good to very good, in the course of the work in 2023 we only had to carry out minor welding work in the area of the rear trunk towards the end plate. There are no signs of previous damage or other traces of accidents.
The vehicle was repainted once all around in its original blood orange color The paint layer thicknesses range between 180 µ and 400 µ. Only the rear right side wall shows partially increased layer thicknesses (between 500 µ and 800 µ) - this appears to have been discreetly reworked. A total of 33 measuring points resulted in an average value of 336 µ.
MAINTENANCE CONDITION
In the course of the overhaul in 2023, our workshop carried out various technical and optical work on the vehicle to the following extent
- EU conversion of the lighting system
