In addition, a modified 901 gearbox with changed gear pairing and the sideshifter deflection in connection with the main shaft from the Porsche 904 was used, the locking effect was set to 60%. The final ratio was deliberately chosen 6 × 29 (4.83: 1) in order to achieve the astonishing torque and acceleration values in connection with the engine. The Vmax is thus around 220 km / h.
The racing chassis with BILSTEIN elements was completely unibal-mounted and used with appropriately dimensioned stabilizers (adjustable). All the articulation points and the individual suspension elements of the chassis were reinforced by appropriate gusset plates, which were exemplary and accurately welded into the body shell.
In addition, the entire body structure and passenger cell was stiffened by a continuously welded roll cage, starting at the front strut domes and extending into the rear trunk area. The front and rear trunk area was connected to the stiffened structure by inserted gusset plates and screwed / removable X-braces.
The brake system was equipped with aluminum fixed calipers i. V. used with appropriately dimensioned and cooled brake discs, on the rear axle calipers from the Carrera 3.2 were used. Steel-flex brake lines and brake force scales round off the drastic improvement measures.
Both the racing instruments of the RSR (10000 rpm DZM) and the speedometer of the 2.7 RS are installed in the interior. Contemporary racing seats on both sides with 6-point belts, fire extinguishers, MOMO sports steering wheel with shortened hub, longitudinal struts for driver and front passenger, and diagonal struts from the roll bar to the front passenger footwell side are screwed and can therefore be removed.

The 914 was repainted about 11 years ago as part of the cosmetic preparation, all stickers can be removed.
