The Porsche 914/6 is considered one of the most fascinating sports cars of the early 1970s - not only because of its striking lines and unmistakable mid-engine concept, but also because of its special history.

in 1969, Porsche launched the Type 914, the brand's first series-produced mid-engined sports car. The 914/6 version was even the first official safety car in the world to be used by the ONS in 1972.

Originating from a cooperation between VW and Porsche - originally conceived as the successor to the VW Karmann Ghia Type 34 and as an entry-level model below the Porsche 911 - the 914 quickly became a character car in its own right.

While the four-cylinder models with VW engines were marketed as VW-Porsche, the 914/6 with its 2.0-liter six-cylinder engine from Zuffenhausen was clearly positioned as a Porsche.
