This modified Carrera 2 is sharper, louder, faster and unique. It’s heading more in the direction of a 964 RS, though possibly a better bet for road use.

Based on a 1992 Carrera 2 coupe with the manual transmission, it has new Bilstein suspension with H&R springs, dialled in with more sporting alignment and corner balanced on our own scales. The suspension has also been polybushed to tighten things up. Those gorgeous, lightweight 18″ BBS split rim alloys are freshly refurbished and shod with Bridgestone tyres. The suspension and wheels alone make a huge difference, but the heart of this 964 is the engine……..

The vehicle in detail

The motor has been rather expensively modified, losing its original and limiting fuel injection set up and replaced with high quality AT Power throttle bodies. Each inlet tract having its own shaftless butterfly to give better fuel measurement and cleaner gas flow. Controlled by a sophisticated ECU and custom mapping. This has significantly increased the power and along with the lightweight clutch/flywheel assembly, gives much improved throttle response. As a by product it sounds fabulous and looks great in the engine bay. It begs to be driven.

Inside it has had the lightweight RS treatment; simple door panels, lightweight carpets, deleted rear seats plus a sports OMP wheel replacing the original airbag wheel and body-hugging Recaro Pole Position seats in Alcantara. There is no music other than the flat six in the rear. Turn the key and fall in love.

First registered on 17th March 1992 and supplied by by OPC Osnabruck, Germany, it now has 124,408 kilometers. Original handbooks and maintenance records, recently serviced.

As for the livery, this is a vinyl wrap on top of the original Cobalt blue (as you can see on the lower part of the car) and could be easily removed or replaced.

Our view? Whilst purists may choose a standard original, this 964 brings a sense of occasion every time you drive it. It is a strong Grade 3 car, ideal for driving and enjoying.
