Porsche AG then sold the car in the fall of 1993, through a German Porsche dealer, with less than 4,000 km on the odometer to the only registered German owner. (Old German vehicle registration document is available.)
The Speedster was then driven by the same owner until 2014, who had it professionally serviced at the Porsche Center Saarland until 1999. From 2000 to 2013, Porsche specialist SWS took care of the car in its workshop.
In the summer of 2014, the car was added to a private Porsche collection and has since been driven only sporadically, but despite the low mileage, it has been serviced three times at the Porsche Center in Giessen.
We have now purchased the car from this collector with 34,900 km on the clock.
The Porsche Center in Münster immediately carried out a major service with additional work, as is normally only necessary at the 40,000 km and 80,000 km services. This was done despite the low mileage of only 34,900 km, as after a good 30 years, various components simply needed to be replaced to ensure smooth and trouble-free operation in the future and driving pleasure. Any damage caused by standing still was also immediately checked, repaired, and ruled out. Of course, four new Michelin tires were also fitted at the same time.
Now, in the summer of 2024, the Speedster has been used for a few trips and has just had another oil change and new brake fluid. Since the clutch was a little "sticky" due to the long period of inactivity, we immediately had a new clutch installed, including the deflection mechanism and master and slave cylinders.
The Speedster now runs like a new car and is ready for its future owner, whether a collector, open-top driving enthusiast, or Porsche fan.
A 964 Speedster like this one should be extremely difficult to find. Of the only 930 vehicles built, a large number were built for the US market, many had Tiptronic transmissions, and only a small number had the rare RS interior. The low mileage and fully documented history with 17 services speak for themselves, as does the condition of the vehicle. The €5,000 invested in Porsche for the extremely comprehensive service with additional work (see above), as well as the new oil service and the new clutch (€3,500), underline that there is no investment or repair backlog on this vehicle.
The vehicle comes with all logbooks (some of which are duplicates in both Swedish and German), the original service booklet, Speedster supplementary instructions, the original key card, all 3 keys, tools, compressor, jack, tool bag, etc.
The next summer is sure to come!!!
