German delivery – 2nd hand – Mileage: 19,705 – Model year 1992 – Night blue metallic – Original paint level
Parallel to the discontinued G-series, the new generation of the 911 came onto the market in the 1989 model year. The 911 Carrera 4 of the 964 type consisted of 85 percent new parts, but largely retained the classic shapes of its predecessor. The 911 Carrera 4 was the first 911 with an all-wheel drive system. Its electronically controlled permanent all-wheel drive normally directed 31 percent of the drive torque to the front axle and 69 percent to the rear axle. The distribution could be varied depending on the driving situation. There was a traction switch on the center console of the C4. Its 3.6-liter engine produces 250 hp. The 911 model series from 1992 is technically sophisticated and was already equipped with the popular Cup rims and Cup mirrors as standard.
This special example was handed over to the first owner and registered by the Porsche Center Ruhr-Lippe on February 28, 1992. The car only changed hands once, in 2003. The second and last owner owned the car continuously for 21 years. Only these two owners are listed in the original vehicle registration document since delivery. The history of the vehicle can therefore be traced without gaps. The current mileage of 19,705 km is historically and uniquely low.
Based on our paint layer measurement, the measurable body parts are consistently at the values of the original paint. In addition to the body, the overall impression of the car also appears largely untouched. The rubber and trim strips, interior and instruments are in immaculate condition, as is the underbody and the technology. Only the occasional stone chips on the trunk lid remind us that this example was delivered over 30 years ago and at the same time document how rare a vehicle is in this state of preservation. The vehicle has only had two sets of tires since it was delivered. The original tires are present and the wear and tear document the low mileage.
The entire vehicle is just as original. All production stickers are still present and the original underbody protection is also still applied. The vehicle has not been damaged or affected by water or salt. In its completely original condition without any modifications, this specimen is in a condition that is absolutely worthy of being collected.
The standard equipment of this model was already lavishly equipped. The special equipment was chosen to be particularly exclusive: the fully electric comfort seats made of raffia with seat heating were chosen for the front and rear. The trunk lining was lined with matching velour carpet. In addition, air conditioning and a sunroof as well as the sound package were installed as extras.
The entire interior is clean and well maintained and almost completely free of visible wear and tear.
Goosebumps and a pure 90s feeling. The color combination of midnight blue metallic with the optional raffia upholstery and the blue carpet color is probably one of the most beautiful and elegant ways to experience a Porsche 911.
In the 964 Carrera 4, the 3.6 liter 6-cylinder boxer engine with dual ignition provides amazing propulsion. The unit produces 250 hp at 6,100 rpm and has a torque of 310 Nm at 4,800 rpm. The 911 accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds – it stops at 260 km/h. The 3.6 engine in the 964 is known for its great running smoothness and distributes its increased power more linearly across the rev range than its predecessors.
The complete original logbook with all contents, including the operating instructions, is also included, as is the complete key and tool set, which is in an unused and partly originally welded condition.
Conclusion: The 964 Carrera 4 combines the modern all-wheel drive technology of the 1990s with the design language of the classic 911. This makes it interesting for many Porsche enthusiasts and is therefore a particularly sought-after model series. This Carrera 4 with the historically low mileage of less than 20,000 km from long-standing German ownership as a second hand and this level of preservation offers Porsche enthusiasts the rare opportunity to acquire one of the most exciting Porsche models of the 1990s. The 964 models in particular have been very desirable for some time, and this will continue.
