The 981-generation of the Porsche Cayman was first unveiled in 2012, ultimately serving as the second generation in the Cayman model lineage. Compared to its former 987 counterpart, the 981 platform benefitted from modernized design language, chassis improvements, and electronic amenities like assisted steering and parking brake. This generation would also serve as the platform for the first GT4 model.

Factory-equipped options on the exterior of this example include extra-cost Amaranth Red Metallic, 19-inch Boxster S Wheels painted in gloss black, Bi-Xenon Headlights w/ PDLS, and body-colored headlight cleaning system covers.
