2015 PORSCHE 911 GT3 RS (991)
The Porsche 911 GT3 RS has long represented the pinnacle of naturally aspirated road going performance, and the 991.1 generation occupies a particularly important place in the model’s evolution. Introduced in 2015, it was the first GT3 RS to be based on the 991 platform and the first to adopt Porsche’s 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six, producing 500 bhp. Combined exclusively with Porsche’s lightning-fast seven-speed PDK transmission, the result was a car capable of delivering race-car precision with everyday usability.
Developed by Porsche’s GT department, the 991.1 GT3 RS features an extensive weight saving programme, magnesium roof, lightweight body panels, active rear-wheel steering and some of the most advanced aerodynamics ever fitted to a naturally aspirated 911. Capable of 0–62 mph in just 3.3 seconds, it remains one of the most engaging and rewarding modern 911s to drive.
