The year is 1996, Germany becomes European football champion, Bill Clinton becomes American president for the second time and Porsche presents its revised 993 with the more powerful 286 hp Varioram engine.
In the spring of 1996, Karl-Heinz B. from Dortmund, then 63 years old (born in 1933), fulfilled his dream and ordered his first Porsche 911 in the dream combination of Arena red metallic with black leather.

The vehicle in detail

The car actually remained in the family until September 2023. In the first ten years, Mr. B. drove just 17,000 km. Mr. B. then died in 2016 at the age of 83; in the last ten years of his life, he had only driven the car very sporadically due to his age.
In the same year, the vehicle was transferred to his partner with the same address and the same license plate; the precious Porsche was to remain in the family in any case.
In the entire period between 2005 and 2023, the 911 was driven by the two of them just another 8,000 km.
In September 2023, the then owner decided, with a heavy heart, to sell the car to a collector, who also comes from Dortmund, precisely for the reasons of its rare use.
The new owner has consistently converted the Carrera 2, which at the time still had the original 16-inch rims, to a “sporty” version.
The car received the much sportier and rare 18-inch Porsche Classic 2 rims in combination with a lowering system using Eibach springs. The 911 also received the original Porsche Motor Sound package with a modified air filter box and oval tailpipes, which gives this Carrera 2 a sporty engine sound in a certain speed range, as well as the 3-spoke Porsche sports steering wheel.
Visually, the package is rounded off by the white indicators and the fact that the car was delivered from the factory without a rear wiper. The car also comes with a new set of Michelin tires for sale.
In combination with the short G50/21 gearbox, the powerful 286 hp engine and the narrow body, as well as the elimination of the air conditioning, this actually resulted in a very sporty Porsche 993 whose power and agility can be felt in every situation.
Unfortunately, just a few months after purchasing it, the collector had to part with the car and part of the rest of his collection for personal and purely private reasons.

During its construction period, the Porsche 993 actually turned out to be a true “savior in times of need” for the Porsche Group, which was in dire straits at the time.
The last air-cooled 911, whose genes clearly go back to the legendary 356 model, was truly a major coup from the sports car manufacturer from Zuffenhausen. And today it is more sought after than ever before.
The captivating design with the new front and the significantly flatter front headlights and this fabulously wide rear, which nevertheless logically continues the classic lines of the 911, is certainly a milestone in Porsche history.
And yes, quite honestly, this 911 could do EVERYTHING better than its predecessors, the chassis, the new LSA rear axle, the revised engine and the six-speed gearbox paired with the new brakes catapulted this sports car into a different league.
A rare opportunity to purchase an honest German car with such low mileage.
