The 993 is the last generation of the 911 to be equipped with an air-cooled engine. In the case of the Carrera 4S this is a 3.6L six-cylinder producing 285 hp. However, this particular example is a little different. It is a Carrera 4S Plus, a version that was available at the very end of this generation in 1998 for the Swiss market. Experts will immediately spot in the service book and on the original sticker under the hood what makes this example extra special: the option code X51.

At the time, you could opt for a costly factory engine upgrade. When this option was selected, the displacement was increased to 3.8L, raising output to an impressive 300 hp. It is said that only 20 examples of the 4S Plus were delivered with this option – extremely rare indeed! The X51 package also included visual details such as an X51 badge on the center console, a red gearshift pattern, hardback Turbo seats and red brake calipers.

The first owner configured this example with taste and care, choosing Arctic Silver Metallic – a color only available in the final two years. When it came to options, no expense was spared: the car is equipped with heated sports seats, cruise control, climate control and an electric sunroof. As you would expect, everything functions perfectly and smoothly, just as it did when the Porsche left the factory.
