This car is distinguished by its rare Grand Prix White shade. The front hood is matching, while the rear one was modified early in its life to accommodate an original Clubsport spoiler. The front of the car as well as its left rear wing have been repainted. The car is fitted with its four original Speedline wheels, with new Michelin tires. The car is accompanied by its original stamped service booklet, period manuals, spare keys, Birth Certificate and was serviced by Porsche Classic Gelderland in February 2024.
The Porsche 993 Carrera RS, presented in 1995, is one of the last representatives of the air-cooled RS lineage, making it a particularly coveted collector’s choice. It pursues Rennsport models heritage, initiated by Porsche in the 1970s, with a philosophy focused on lightness and sportiness. It was intended for homologation of competition versions such as the 993 Cup or RSR, while remaining accessible to private customers seeking for a radical car drivable on the road. In the 993 range, it held the pinnacle of naturally aspirated performance, just ahead of the Turbo or GT2 variants.
The 993 Carrera RS is powered by a 3.8-liter flat-six engine, an evolution of the standard engine, developing 300 horsepower at 6,500 rpm. It benefits from a significant weight reduction thanks to the use of lighter materials, the removal of soundproofing, comfort features, and sometimes even power windows or the radio. Its chassis has been optimized with a stiffer suspension, thicker anti-roll bars, and a standard limited-slip differential. It is also recognizable by its wider track, two-piece fixed spoiler, and specific 18-inch wheels.
Thanks to its reduced weight of approximately 1,270 kg, the 993 Carrera RS offers remarkable performance for a car of its era. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and can reach a top speed of nearly 174 mph. Its six-speed manual transmission, combined with its very sharp handling, makes it a demanding but extremely rewarding car to drive. Its balance, its typical air-cooled flat-six sound, and its rarity make it a true icon for brand purists.
