This is a 1996 Porsche 911 (993) Turbo finished in Silver!

This 1996 Porsche 911 Turbo is a rest-of-world example that was specified without a sunroof and delivered new in Japan before being brought to the US in December 2023. Now showing 3,800 kilometers (~2,300 miles), the car is finished in Polar Silver and is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six that turns all four wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential. It rolls on 18″ Turbo Twist wheels and is further equipped with fog lights, a fixed rear spoiler, heated hardback sport seats trimmed in black leather, automatic climate control, and a Porsche CR-2 cassette stereo. This 993 Turbo was acquired by its current owner on BaT in February 2024, and is now offered on dealer consignment in California with a Porsche Classic Technical Certificate, manufacturer’s literature, a toolkit, a jack, service records, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean Montana title.

The vehicle in detail

The 993 Turbo featured wider bodywork, revised bumper covers, and a fixed rear spoiler to accommodate top-mount intercoolers when compared with the standard 993 coupe. This example is finished in Polar Silver Metallic (92M) and was ordered without a sunroof. Additional details include integrated fog lights, a rear window wiper, and polished exhaust outlets. Paint chips are noted on the hood and right side of the rear spoiler.

The 18″ Turbo Twist wheels are wrapped in 225/40 front and 285/35 rear Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The car features an Automatic Brake Differential (ABD), and the 993 was the first 911 to feature multi-link rear suspension. Braking is provided by red Porsche-branded four-piston calipers over cross-drilled rotors.

The optional heated and power-adjustable hardback sport seats are upholstered in black leather, and color-matching material extends to the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Porsche-branded floor mats line the footwells, and appointments include automatic climate control, cruise control, and a Porsche CR-2 cassette stereo.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a central tachometer, a 320-km/h speedometer, an analog Quarz clock, and gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, oil level, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 3,800 kilometers (~2,300 miles), approximately 20 of which have been added under current ownership. The twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six was factory equipped with Bosch Motronic fuel injection and was rated at 400 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque when new.

Power is sent to all four wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential.

The engine stamping *61T01225* corresponds with the engine number noted on the Porsche Classic Technical Certificate. Transaxle stamping 2002894 is shown in the gallery below and is also listed on the technical certificate.

The Porsche Classic Technical Certificate was issued in January 2024 by Porsche San Diego in California, and lists delivery to Japan, original powertrain numbers, factory colors and options, and a June 1995 date of production. Manufacturer’s literature, service records, a jack, and a toolkit are also included in the sale.

The Carfax report shows at least one open recall; however, the selling dealer notes that the report is incorrect.

The vehicle has not passed a California emissions test.
