Porsche 996 GT3

Coupé, 2001

Highlights

  • Rare opportunity!
  • Only 49,000 kilometers
  • MY2001

L’Amour Automobile offers you this stunning Porsche 996 GT3 in a metallic black configuration, with a matching black interior and equipped with its iconic optional Recaro bucket seats, all in perfect condition.

This example is particularly special in many ways, as it is not only one of the 1,858 Phase 1 units produced, but more importantly one of the 508 model year 2001 cars—the final year of production—which benefited from specific improvements later carried over to the Phase 2. This car is presented today with only 49,000 kilometers.

The 996.1 GT3 is now a highly sought-after collector’s item, a model that has shaped the history of Porsche in its own way. It is the last Porsche model hand-assembled in Weissach in very limited numbers, and the first to bear the now legendary “GT3” designation—synonymous with uncompromising performance and a dream for any automotive enthusiast.

The vehicle in detail

INTERIOR :

The interior is in very good condition. The leather on the seats and dashboard shows no signs of premature wear. The same applies to the steering wheel, gear knob, and handbrake lever. The carpets are impeccable. There is a very slight mark on the passenger seat and on the driver’s door sill.

EXTERIOR:

The exterior is just as remarkable. The bodywork presents very well. The wheels are in excellent condition, with no scuffs or marks. A slight scratch is noted on the rear bumper.

HISTORY :

The 996 GT3 Phase 1 (1999–2001) marks a major turning point in the history of Porsche. It is the first production GT3, the spiritual successor to the legendary Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7, and the model that revived the lineage of radical, road-legal 911s designed primarily for the track.

It was also the first production car to lap the Nürburgring in under 8 minutes, with Walter Röhrl behind the wheel, thanks to its dry-sump Mezger engine derived from the Porsche 911 GT1, which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

It is also the last Porsche to feature a cable-operated throttle—raw, pure, and free of driving aids. The details don’t stop there, as it is the final Porsche to have been hand-built by Porsche Motorsport at the Weissach facility.

It represents the end of an era and the beginning of another—the dawn of the modern GT3 dynasty. A 911 that remains analog, raw, demanding, and exceptionally reliable.
