Porsche 996 GT3

Porsche 996 GT3

Coupé, 2001

Highlights

  • Rare 996.1 Gt3
  • Biarritz White
  • Clean DME

The 996.1 GT3 marked Porsche’s return of the GT3 nameplate and established the formula that would define the modern GT3 lineage. Developed with significant influence from Porsche Motorsport, the 996.1 combines the lightweight 996 platform with the legendary Mezger 3.6-liter naturally aspirated flat-six, motorsport-derived engineering, and a focused rear-wheel-drive chassis. With only 1,868 examples produced worldwide, the first-generation GT3 remains a particularly significant chapter in Porsche’s performance history.

The vehicle in detail

Finished in Biarritz White, the exterior is distinguished by the rare Factory Cup Aerokit, giving the car a more aggressive motorsport-inspired appearance than the standard GT3. The specification is complemented by 18-inch multi-piece wheels, red-painted brake calipers, clear side marker lights, and an adjustable rear spoiler. The combination of the white exterior and Cup-inspired aerodynamic equipment gives this GT3 a purposeful appearance that reflects its competition-bred origins.

Inside, the driver-focused cabin features factory carbon-backed bucket seats trimmed in black leather, complemented by carbon fiber interior trim, black gauges, and a CD radio. The lightweight seats and carbon appointments reflect the enthusiast-oriented nature of the car while retaining the functional character of the early 996 GT3 cockpit.

Power comes from Porsche’s legendary Mezger 3.6-liter flat-six, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential. The naturally aspirated engine, manual gearbox, and focused chassis deliver the direct and engaging driving experience that has made the 996 GT3 one of the most revered modern Porsche performance cars.

Originally built for the German market, this example subsequently spent time in Japan before arriving in the United States in March 2026. Its accompanying Japanese inspection records document its time overseas, while the car is also offered with one key and the owner’s manual. As the 996.1 GT3 was never officially offered in the U.S. market, this example represents a particularly distinctive opportunity to acquire one of the earliest and most collectible iterations of Porsche’s modern GT3 lineage, further enhanced by its rare Factory Cup Aerokit, X-Code specification, carbon-backed factory bucket seats, and iconic Mezger powertrain.
