The most interesting thing about this version is that it has a glass roof and a tailgate (also made of glass).

From the gate you can leave objects in the rear seats, in total, the roof of the 911 Targa has 1.54 m2 of glass.

The glass portion that is located above the occupants of the front seats can be slid backwards by means of electric motors, until it is partially above the rear glass, but it cannot be removed. This solution has been used by Porsche 911 since the previous 911 model (996). In previous models, the glass roof could be removed.

The two glass portions that form part of the roof of the 911 Targa have a treatment that limits solar radiation in the passenger compartment. In addition, below the glass portion that moves, there is a curtain to prevent the entry of the sun. This blind, which is electrically powered, can be folded up or unfolded regardless of the position of the ceiling.
