Interior
A good Porsche needs a good interior: black leather predominates and is in perfect condition. The sports seats are excellent, as you would expect from a 911. The sports steering wheel and Sport Chrono clock on top of the dashboard more than complete the sporty ambiance. Although our attention is primarily focused on the gear lever of the manual transmission… We rarely see a Porsche 911 like this these days! Very nice is the finish of the headliner, made of black Alcantara. Chic! The electric sunroof provides excellent light. No, this classic car in the making never looks dark. Are those 5 analogue counters in a row also staring at you like that? Time for some action!
Options & extras
Those who want to try out the electrically adjustable, heated sports seats (including memory function) to the maximum automatically call upon the qualities of the Porsche Stability Management (PSM) system. This piece of technology keeps the Porsche 997 Carrera as level as possible as soon as it turns the corner at (high) speed. Sport Chrono Plus Pack and xenon lighting both add something in their own way to the fierce dynamics of this sports car pur sang. But never too much, because the 911 Carrera is far too elegant and self-assured for that. Pure or not, all kinds of luxury or modern amenities such as Porsche Communication Management (PCM) including navigation and a Bose audio system are by no means missing on board this richly equipped example. So there is no question of “the beauty of silence” or losing your way…
Technology & performance
With 325 hp on the rear axle, every destination is reached in no time. The delicious boxer rumble comes from a 3.6 liter 6-pitter, non-turbo. This 911 dates back to an era when Porsche only added turbo technology to versions that were actually so named. Without this support, the 997 Carrera still manages to reach 100 km/h from standstill within 5 seconds. Furthermore, the top speed is set at 285 km/h: enough to effortlessly leave the many bounded compatriots behind you on the German Autobahn. But first a visit to Prince….
With cordial regards,
Prince Esclusivo.
