The Targa models of the 997 Porsche 911 was introduced in 2006. Similar to its predecessors such as the 933 and 996, the 997 utilized a glass roof system which can be opened at any speed and slides back underneath the rear window. Worldwide, Porsche approximately produced 130,798 vehicles in their 997.1 production run which only 4853 models had the Targa designation.
