In the long history of the Porsche 911, a few stand out in terms of design and durability. The primal F model from 1965 has by now been confirmed and has become priceless. The succeeding G-model with the harmonica bumpers, lags slightly behind this, but by now is also precious in the right condition and execution. The 996 is currently experiencing serious growth. The 964 and the 993 are also in high demand and have now reached a price level that is out of reach for many. The 997, and certainly the first series of these, is seen by Porsche fans as one of the most beautiful 911´s. In recent years, in the right condition and execution, this Porsche has also shown a considerable increase in value. This concludes our Porsche 911 history tour.
We currently have a particularly beautiful 997, from the first series from 2005, in our collection. Special for several reasons. First of all, the colour combination and trim. Black base paint with an unprecedented beautiful and deep shine, 19-inch original Porsche 997 turbo rims, combined with the cognac-coloured, full leather interior. Tastes differ, but in our humble opinion very nice. Then there is the condition of the car. Demonstrably only 95,500km in 20 years. The engine was replaced at 46142km at the Porsche dealer in Aachen in 2010. The invoice for this is available for inspection. The engine is therefore of the modified post-2006 version which has been seriously addressed and improved by Porsche. Furthermore, the car has been fully maintained by Porsche, fully documented except for the last two service intervals, which were performed at an authorised Porsche specialist. Virtually no wear on both interior and exterior, cherished by its three previous owners. You can see and feel that in everything. Last but not least, a very complete standard equipment, with a wealth of original Porsche options. Among others: Adjustable sports exhaust, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM=adjustable shock absorbers) Porsche Communication Management (PCM= navigation, phone, audio though from 2005 of course)with Bose audio, 12-way Electrically adjustable comfort seats with memory and seat heating, extensive leather package (dashboard, centre console, door panels, trim and ventilation grilles) Climate control, cruise control, rear parking sensors, xenon lights and so on.
Then driving: Like-new is an understatement. Braking, shifting, clutching, steering, accelerating. As it should be for a 997 with this mileage. Preferably with the sports exhaust open with a great and addictive sound. Not too violent but wonderfully sporty. The party can start as soon as you drive out of the street. A sultry summer evening, the hood and exhaust open, looking for the familiar quiet and preferably winding B-road. Then also knowing that you have made a responsible investment. Porsche´s 997 in this condition and design are becoming increasingly rare and have only increased in value in recent years. There is no better example of combining the useful with the pleasant.
