1965 PORSCHE 911 WITH PERIOD RACE HISTORY FOR SALE

This 1965 Porsche 911 has a really lovely history.

It was first delivered to Hans Peter Stihl of the Stihl chainsaw family and was his company car. After this the Stihl family sold the car to Heinz Lange. Heinz Lange is a Garman race car driver who went on to race in German Formula 3, this was the car he began his racing career in. Heinz and this car raced in ADAC events in Germany and also in what was known as the DARM (Deutsche Automobil Rundstrecken Meisterschaft) or German Touring car series. Most notably at the Hockenheim Ring in the Preis der Nationen weekend (no115 in the period photos in the image gallery).

The kardex of the car shows all of these owners and also shows that the car was sent back to the Porsche factory to have the 911S engine installed which would have been for competition use. This engine is the engine that is now with the car and included in the sale of the car.

This car is an ideal candidate for a pre 66 FIA race car but would equally make a really great addition to any collection as an interesting road car to be restored as per it’s period specification with half cage etc.

This car offers a great opportunity to own a 1965 Porsche 911’s with period history as such cars are extremely rare and hard to find.
