Our 911 Lightspeed Classic

As neighbors of the workshop, we often watched test drives as newly completed cars were fine-tuned, and we knew one day we wanted to be part of that process. When the opportunity came, we set out to create a 911 that reflected both our company’s identity and our own vision. We worked closely with Peter throughout the build, exchanging ideas and following each step with great attention.

The exterior is finished in Porsche Racing Green Metallic, chosen to echo our company color and inspired by a client’s newly acquired 911 GT3. The interior continues this theme with green leather upholstery, complemented by a leather-wrapped roll cage and integrated speakers. Lightweight construction played an essential role: the rear lid, roof, and both front and rear fenders are made of carbon fiber, reducing weight without compromising strength. Inside, a precisely machined metal short shifter provides a direct and mechanical connection, making every gear change a tactile experience.

The centerpiece, however, lies in the engine bay: a 3.8-liter flat-six built to RS specification, producing approximately 335 horsepower. Enhanced with 3 mm motorsport camshafts, optimized intake pathways, and reinforced valve springs with retainers, it delivers the character of a race car in the shape of a refined classic. And while every car embodies the highest levels of craftsmanship and engineering expertise, it is also priced competitively against many new resto-mods that cannot claim the same depth of experience behind their creation.

The phrase Made in Germany has long stood for quality, precision, and reliability. Lightspeed Classic, founded in 2010 just south of Munich at around the same time Singer Vehicle Design began its journey in the United States, continues that tradition in its own distinctive way. From a small workshop with a dedicated team of craftsmen and engineers, a clear vision emerged: to re-engineer the Porsche 964 into a car that combines the timeless curves of the early F-series with performance and driving dynamics refined for today. The result was the Lightspeed Classic 911.

Unlike Singer, which has grown into a globally recognized brand, Lightspeed Classic never aimed for large-scale production. For its founder, an engineer and perfectionist, the focus has always been on building cars to his own uncompromising standards, personally overseeing every stage of construction and testing. Production remains deliberately limited to only two cars per year, each one hand-built and tested in Munich, Germany.
