The engine was built in 2016 by well respected engine builder Oliver Beinhert of Beinhert Boxer Motoren in Germany. Starting with a 3.0 SC base and modified to 3.2 litres with Mahle cylinders bored to 98mm, re-nikasiled, and fitted with new Mahle pistons giving 10.3:1 compression. The build also features a GT3 oil filter setup, new rods and bearings, polished crank, DC60 cams, lightweight flywheel, and stronger valve springs. A twin plug conversion and further set up was carried out in 2020 by Neil Bainbridge. The car was then dyno tested at 260bhp and performs superbly. SSI heat exchangers and a Turbo Thomas RSR style stainless exhaust system increase performance further and ensure the car sound as good as it looks. The 915 gearbox was fully rebuilt in 2024 by Carrera Performance in Horsham and is an absolute joy to use.

Restored with steel 2.7 RS style rear flares and ducktail, the bodywork also features Kevlar doors and bonnet, a fibreglass rear bumper, and an original 1973 S steel front bumper. There is no sound deadening, and weight was kept to a minimum throughout. It retains RHD H1 headlights with raised script lenses, twin Durant mirrors, and polished window frames refinished by Nick Moss in 2020. It rides on original 7R front and 8×15 rear wheels restored by Art Wheels in Strasbourg in 2019, fitted with Avon CR6ZZ tyres (185/70 front, 215/60 rear). A 6×15 ‘heart’ spare wheel is also included.

The interior features new Deser Sport S seats trimmed in black with corduroy centres, a 380mm original RS steering wheel with reproduction hockey puck horn, lightweight RS style door panels and carpets, and an original Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio refurbished and upgraded with Bluetooth by Chrome London with a discreet under dash speaker.

The Bilstein suspension was fully set up by Centre Gravity in 2024, with Elephant Racing polybronze bushes fitted all round. Every suspension part was re-plated, re-anodised, or powder coated, and both the front brakes and steering rack were rebuilt in winter 2024. The result is exceptional handling and balance while remaining compliant for road use. The most recent service was completed in April 2025 at 59,827 miles by Carrera Performance, including oil and filter change and valve clearance adjustment. The car has been meticulously maintained and is ready to drive.

Overall a superbly built and well documented example that combines lightweight engineering & exceptional attention to detail. With its 260bhp 3.2-litre twin-plug engine, rebuilt 915 gearbox, rust free body and sub-1000kg weight, it offers an incredibly engaging, analogue driving experience. A recent valuation is on file by John Glynn, of Classic Car Valuation Specialist for £110,000. The car is presented in beautiful condition throughout, and now represents great value for a properly sorted early 911 Hot Rod.

Three large files of past service history and invoices for parts and work done over the years accompany the car. Along with two keys, period tool kit and jack. Serviced earlier this year, ready to use.
