Porsche 986 Boxster

In 1996, before the new 911 (996), Porsche’s new « Baby » was unveiled, where everyone expected to an air-cooled flat-6, lo and behold, the Boxster ushered in water cooling! Crime for the Porschists! Yet… how well it works!
We end up with an effective, good-value vehicle! Between 1996 and 2004 about 100,000 cars were sold, numbers never achieved for a Porsche! A huge success.
It is now for all intents and purposes recognized as a Porsche and, believe me, at times so much more fun than a 911! Finally, on the Boxster, the engine is in the right place!
