This 1956 Porsche 356 A Speedster is a piece of motorsport history. On June 4th 1956, almost 70 years ago, it was delivered to Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips who was the first owner. But that’s not it… This Speedster wasn’t ordered at a dealership, it’s one of very few “Werksverkauf” cars. Werksverkauf was Porsche’s VIP sales division who sold directly to royalty, corporate heads, film stars and sport personalities. This highly exlusive division was only for well-known customers who could pick-up their cars directly at the factory.

Graf von Trips was a German Formula One driver who started his racing career in a Porsche 356 Super in the 1954 Mille Miglia. In the following years he raced many Porsches, including the iconic 550 and 718 RSK. With many wins and podium finishes in races like the 1000km Nürburgring, 12 Hours of Sebring, Targa Florio, Berlin Grand Prix and the 24 Hours of Le Mans he remains one of the all-time greats. Unfortunately, he passed away in 1961 after a crash at Monza during the Italian Grand Prix.

The car we’re offering is a rare 1956 356 A Speedster with round taillights. This matching numbers car is accident free and available unrestored or restored. The original colour is white (Weiss) over a black leather interior. A Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and original Graf von Trips books come with the car.
