The Porsche 356. The car with which it all started for Porsche. Ferdinand Porsche Senior, had already designed the car in 1931 that would later serve as the Volkswagen Beetle. His son, Ferry Porsche, laid the foundation for the Porsche 356 in 1939. All technology initially came from Volkswagen, but this soon became very different. Porsche made adjustments to the engine, gearbox, interior and steering. Later, almost everything was modified and custom-made by Porsche.

Thanks to the Second World War, the entire concept was put on a hold until 1948. It was in that year that the first prototypes were born. The new Porsches were sold very well; the new owners were enormously impressed by their aerodynamics, handling and build quality. Nevertheless, the 356’s are good to use in everyday traffic. Basic principles that Porsche continues to pursue to this day.

Our model, the 356B (T6) was born in Stuttgart in 1961. It was delivered in sunny California. This generation was fitted with a tank cap in the right front wing and two cooling grilles in the nose. In addition, the interior was given a facelift and a rear seat. Ours is in very good condition and has a lot of maintenance history. In 2004 the German cruiser made the crossing to our country. The beautiful roaring boxer engine was now allowed to make the country’s roads unsafe.

You spontaneously get a smile from mirror to mirror when you drive this German-Californic classic. Just a bit sporty because it is a 1600 super, iconic as always. Many people see this as the ultimate classic. Therefore both rationally and emotionally a perfect candidate for the enthusiast!
