With Porsche discontinuing the G-body in 1989, a new model was released in its place. The 964 was manufactured with mostly new parts, but still held the beautiful body style of the previous models. Even though the 964 and the g-model were very similar in design, the aerodynamics on the 964 were significantly different, and improved. The Carrera 4 was the first 964 model to hit the floor, and it was the first all-wheel-drive 911. The Carrera 4 had a traction control switch on the center console. In 1990 the first rear-wheel-drive 964 was introduced, the Carrera 2. The Carrera 2 was an identical version of the Carrera 4, just rear-wheel drive.
This 1990 964 originated in Belgium and was moved to the Netherlands from 2009 to 2015 and had numerous modifications completed, costing over $75k. The engine is an air-cooled 3.6 liter flat six with 8,250 miles since being rebuilt in 2015 by Paul Geeris costing over $25k. The engine has been modified with a sport catalytic converter, a carbon fiber BMC air filter, a carbon fiber heater duct, a carbon fiber fan shroud housing, and a primary muffler bypass. The power is being sent to the wheels by a 5-speed manual G50 Transmission with an aluminum CAE shifter, which has been overhauled and fitted with a limited slip differential. The Exterior has been refinished in the original color of Guards Red and features a carbon fiber RS 3.8-style wing, an exposed carbon roof, an exposed carbon hood, brake duct inserts, aero mirrors, side skirts, a front lip spoiler, and a chrome exhaust outlet. The front end has been refurbished and the lighting consists of Modern Projector-style headlamps with black housings, and European-spec turn signals. On the rear end of the car there is “Carrera RS badging”.
The Interior is stripped down to the bare metal and custom fitted with a lightweight interior. An FIA-Approved roll cage has been installed along with upper RS-style door panels. Custom trimmed red Alcantara runs down the dashboard, highlighting a red speedometer dial, carbon fiber dashboard trim, and an AIM Mychron3 Dash Display that can be removed at any time. There aren’t many amenities in this car as it is a track car, the air conditioning, radio, and sound system have been removed. The quick-release Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel completes the dash when it’s connected. The Seats have been replaced with Cobra Racing seats and QSP Safety Harnesses to go along with it.
The car rides on 18” multipiece wheels with black-painted centers with colored Porsche crests. To fit the wheels, a new set of Toyo Proxes R888R tires have been fitted around them. The suspension consists of an upgraded Bilstein coilover suspension, with an RSR front sway bar and a carbon fiber strut brace. To stop this madness, upgraded “big Red” Brembo Calipers have been installed as well as Pagid brake pads, stainless steel lines, and RS Dynamo hubs. A PPI has recently been completed at GMP performance of Charlotte and all issues have been addressed other than outdated harnesses. The car has over $75,000 in modifications and upgrades from Paul Geeris, Netherlands.
