It is undoubtedly one of the last manual turbos that there will be, apart from their scarcity and with the masterful dynamics of the 997 chassis.
No more than 600 units manufactured with a manual transmission of the 997.2 turbo and none in Turbo S since they were all PDK.
Seller opinion: With respect to the mk1, everything has improved, on paper, its mechanics mount a new 3.8 direct injection engine with +20 more hp and impressive low torque sensations compared to the mk1.
But let’s not get a false initial impression of this mk2 Turbo.
The 997.2 turbo are relatively easily differentiated from the mkI; It is not the case of the GT3, which is aesthetically quite different from the previous one, but the Turbo mkII is tremendously similar to the mkI . Ahead they are practically the same, and even the new daytime running lights have been located exactly where the fog lights used to be. The side is the same, the rear spoiler too and it is only easily distinguishable thanks to the rear LED-based optics and the end tips integrated into the rear bumper.
But, nevertheless, the presence is slightly different, a subtly modified silhouette is perceived with more rounded bumpers and a somewhat flatter profile, then already running it is another totally different car.
Direct injection with variable geometry turbos together with the increase in displacement make the difference compared to the mk1 abysmal.
