The vehicle in detail

The sixth generation 911 and first phase of the 997 model arrived in 2004 under the direction of legendary Porsche designer Grant Larson. Retaining the legacy rear-engine, rear-drive layout, the 997 benefited from ongoing engineering refinements blended with desirable design improvements and suspension enhancements.

Offered in 2006, the incomparable Turbo was the top of the model line, followed in 2007 with the Turbo cabriolet, both of which featured All-Wheel Drive. The cabriolet was highly regarded over previous open-roof designs in that improved structural rigidity was achieved without compromise to the body design. Cabriolets were fitted with a power soft top and a specialized rear wing that automatically deployed to a higher position specifically to improve aerodynamics unique to the cabriolet design. These efforts coupled with the twin-turbocharged 473 hp engine made the Turbo Cabriolet one of the fastest production convertibles ever built.

This Turbo Cabriolet was delivered brand new to Roger Jobs Porsche in Bellingham, WA in July 2008. According to research documenting the options on this car, this Porsche was outfitted from the factory with the following options and sold to the first owner with the MSRP of $146,055,00:

Carrera White
Tiptronic S Transmission
Parking Assist System
Sport Chrono Package Turbo
Natural Leather Cocoa
Cabriolet Roof in Cocoa
Floor Mats in Interior Color
Porsche Crest in Headrest
Heated Front Seats
Adaptive Sport Seats
3 Spoke Leather Multifunction Steering Wheel
According to the current and clean Carfax report, the first owner took delivery from the Bellingham, WA dealer in August 2008. The car remained with the first owner until 2020 with regular services including fluid changes, A/C recharge,  and two new tires mounted in 2009 at 9,000 miles. In 2020, with approximately 20,000 miles, the car was sold to the second owner, a resident of Woodinville, WA. Regular services at Porsche Bellevue were performed annually as consecutive miles accumulated to approximately 27,000 miles when the car was sold to the third and current owner in 2025 with 27,149 miles. In preparation for consignment, an oil and filter service was performed.

Today, displaying 27,410 miles, this Porsche Turbo Cabriolet presents with excellent factory original paint featuring high gloss and smooth finish on all body panels. The distinctive Turbo model front and rear bumper caps also retain excellent fit and finish to the body surfaces. All opening features open and close with excellent shut lines and crisp closure indicative of factory construction. The original glass is clean and scratch-free including a clear windshield, and clear rear glass for the convertible top. The lighting and lenses are also in excellent condition including the desirable 997 round headlights. A set of Porsche 19” polished alloy wheels with matching Porsche crest centerpieces are backed by Porsche-branded red brake calipers perched over slotted and ventilated four-wheel disc brakes. A set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires are mounted.

One of the more intriguing aspects of this era design is the flush Porsche rear wing. Unlike the fixed whale-tail design of the past, when driven at speed, the acceleration-activated rear spoiler raises automatically to improve rear end stability and air flow dynamics. Impressive power from the 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged engine is all the more invigorating when the matching Cocoa canvas convertible power top is lowered and open air driving can be readily enjoyed.

The interior has been very well-maintained featuring the special order Cocoa leather on all seating surfaces and premium satin silver cabin accents. The premium Bose audio system delivers excellent sound through the multi-speaker system even with the top down. The interior surfaces, dashboard, console, and door panels are all very nice, though as typically found in these cars, the driver’s left mid-seat bolster shows slight wear and scuff marks are noted on the driver’s side entry threshold. The dashboard, main cluster instrumentation, and easily accessed center console controls are all beautifully laid out and reflective of enthusiast care.

Driver ergonomics are a hallmark of Porsches, and with the Tiptronic transmission, casual city driving is low stress while offering high performance actuation at your fingertips when driven with more spirited intent. The dashboard warning lights and assorted instrumentation operate properly, displaying key operational features and systems status including the optional Sport Chrono feature – a must for anyone who enjoys rally events or simply timing vacation road trips. The carpet, door panels, and rear seating surfaces are in excellent condition, appearing to have been regularly detailed and carefully enjoyed.

The engine compartment has been thoughtfully maintained and properly serviced, though much of the engine is concealed from view given the tight packaging for rear engine twin-turbo placement. The underside of the car, suspension and driveline casings indicate evidence of regular care, free from any significant marks or notable damage, consistent with the overall impressive cosmetic condition and clean Carfax report.

Driving this Turbo Cabriolet, one is reminded of how delightful and easy going these cars can be even when pressed. The power is progressive but docile under regular use and comes on with a dramatic surge into higher revs when urged. Freeway and passing speeds are rapidly achieved and are well-controlled by the remarkable braking abilities. Handling is legendary particularly notable due to AWD and here again, not confined to sports car metrics as the Turbo Cabriolet is every bit at home on the highway, humming along with the top up, Bose audio system engaged, and cool air conditioning making for comfortable road trips or sunset drives up the coastline.

With a history of unrivaled engineering, iconic design, and Porsche 911 heritage, this beautiful Porsche Turbo Cabriolet offers classic elegance and open-air performance. Documented, well-maintained examples have become increasingly challenging to find in such fine condition. Ready for your daily enjoyment, pleasure drives, or engaging in any of the many Porsche Club events and concours gatherings, this Porsche Turbo Cabriolet is sure to delight anyone who enjoys a premium open sports car offering the very best in precision engineering and contemporary design.
