Porsche 356 A 1600 – 1958
Originally delivered new in Portugal.
The car benefited from a comprehensive restoration completed in 2020, carried out with no expense spared and with meticulous attention to preserving the spirit and character of the Porsche 356 A
It is presented in the elegant and rare Graphit Metallic (paint code 5603), one of the most desirable metallic colours offered by Porsche/Reutter during the period, beautifully highlighting the timeless lines of the 356 A.
The interior retains a significant portion of its original components and displays a genuine and highly attractive patina, difficult to replicate and greatly appreciated by marque enthusiasts.
The car is powered by a Porsche Type 616 air-cooled flat-four engine, prepared to a period-style high-performance specification. Producing approximately 100 hp as measured on a dynamometer, it is equipped with twin Weber dual-throat carburettors, velocity stacks, Bosch ignition and an external oil filtration system.
This is a non-matching engine, based on a replacement Porsche Type 616 crankcase and prepared in accordance with period-correct engineering solutions. The engine is coupled to a Porsche 356 A transmission.
The car performs flawlessly, offering crisp throttle response, excellent flexibility and impressive power delivery, providing a driving experience that closely captures the spirit of Porsche’s competition cars of the era.
A rare opportunity to acquire a Portuguese-delivered Porsche 356 A, carefully restored and thoughtfully prepared, ready to be enjoyed on the road or incorporated into a distinguished collection.
