One of approximately two hundred and thirty-five Carrera 2000 GS Coupes produced for the world, finished in Signal Red with Black upholstery. According to the Porsche Kardex Amag, Switzerland delivered the Carrera 2 to Herbert Hoffmann on September 1, 1962, originally finished in Ivory with a Black interior with mouse-Grey Corduroy inserts. The original four-cam Carrera 2L engine was No. 97078, but is no longer with the 356. Documented ownership history spanning over five decades with five owners from new; this is a running and driving example and is a genuine four-cam-designated Carrera 2 chassis.
The Signal Red exterior presents well throughout and is complemented by chrome brightwork and 4.5 x 15 Lemmerz wheels mounted with 165 80-15 tires. The Carrera 2 also retains its factory Eberspächer gas heater. The interior includes a VDM Carrera wooden steering wheel, VDO Carrera instrumentation with a 160 mph speedometer, an 8000 RPM tachometer, fuel and temperature gauges, and a clock.
