A Modern Tribute
The original Porsche 930 Turbo marked the beginning of a new era. Introduced in the early 1970s to rival emerging supercars from Italy and the United States, it became Germany’s fastest production car of its time and quickly earned its legendary reputation.
The KALMAR 7-97 Turbo takes the philosophy of the 930 and invites it into the 21st century.
This is not a restoration. It is a re-engineering.
Using the 993 platform as a donor, the 7-97 Turbo delivers modern drivability, stability, and comfort while preserving the emotional intensity that made the original Turbo an icon.
Why The 7-97 Turbo
Most KALMAR Automotive clients own multiple cars for different occasions. The 7-97 Turbo is designed to be the ultimate Grand Turismo, a car for long, fast, connected drives with uncompromised performance and usability.
With close to unlimited power, super-light materials, adaptive systems, and four-wheel drive, the car offers exceptional pace without sacrificing confidence or comfort.
It is a car from the past, engineered for the future.
Design & Aerodynamics
Rear
A modern interpretation of the iconic Turbo whale tail defines the rear of the car.Developed using CFD simulations, the spoiler ensures correct aerodynamic balance and stability at high speeds before real-world testing.
Front
The front design blends long-hood and short-hood Porsche proportions into a unique hybrid form.Inspired by the 1967 911 R, the front intakes have been re-engineered into efficient air channels that improve cooling and downforce while giving the car a distinctive identity.
Bodywork
Ultra-light carbon fibre body panels, including doors and roof, are used throughout to reduce weight and improve rigidity. Glued-in glass further enhances structural stiffness and performance.
The Driving Experience
The original 930 was legendary, but demanding.
The 7-97 Turbo changes that.
Adaptive suspension, traction control, ABS, and modern power distribution systems transform the experience into something intuitive, fast, and confidence-inspiring, without removing the raw connection that defines a true driver’s car.
The Turbo Engine
At the heart of the 7-97 Turbo is a bespoke-developed 3.2-litre turbocharged engine.
Smaller, stronger pistons, custom camshafts, and a Porsche 962-inspired intake system work together with electronically controlled twin turbos to deliver immense power and immediate throttle response.
Drive-by-wire control enables ultra-fast traction management and selectable engine maps, while electrically cooled air-to-air intercoolers ensure consistent performance under all conditions.
Output exceeds 670 hp and 660 Nm, delivering modern supercar performance in a classic form.
