Porsche 911 ‘G’ 3.2 Club Sport for sale at Rock’n’Roll classics

Porsche has dominated the motorsport for ages and that was no different in the ‘80s. Whoever payed a visit to the Porsche museum, must have seen the two-times-in-a-row winning 956 hanging upside down. Its bigger brother, the 962, repeated this story three times after. In the late 80’s the FIA decided to drop the regulation on maximum fuel consumption. As well N/A 3.5 liter engines, which were by far lighter than the turbocharged ones, were allowed now. The Porsche 962 looked like a dinosaur at the start grid compared to the high-tech light weights of for example Jaguar and Peugeot. Nothing could be further from the truth and Porsche had to withdraw from the Group C races. Porsches department found itself in difficult times now and even employees were in danger of becoming unemployed. To be provided with work, a small batch of light weight Porsche 911 were produced at Weissach. The 911 Club Sport was born.
