During the construction period from 1985 to 1989, only 559 of the Targa were built worldwide in the factory turbo layout. Of these, only 322 were left-hand drive models and 69 were registered in Germany.
According to the vehicle registration document, the model presented here was already registered as a Porsche works registration in February 1984, 10 months before the official market launch. The entry in the vehicle registration document as Super Carrera (SC) was later corrected and changed to "WTL". This underlines the fact that the car was one of the first of its type.
