1970 Porsche 911 Coupe – 3.2L Upgrade – European Collectables
This is a two-owner 911T that was with its most recent owner for the past 44 years and has just under 117,000 original miles. After thirty years with a mostly stock 911T in the garage, he decided to upgrade this car. His goal was to meet or exceed the performance and usability of a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS. He began by purchasing a 3.2L (type 930/25) engine from a 1988 911 that had been wrecked with only 9,000 miles on the odometer. The new engine, which makes 217 horsepower at 5,900 and 195 foot-pounds of torque at 4,800 rpm, replaced the carbureted 911T engine and exceeded the horsepower and torque of a ’73 RS (210 at 6,300 rpm with 188 foot-pounds of torque at 5,100).
