We at GTR Parts have been building and restoring both air-cooled and water-cooled Porsches according to customer requirements for many years. One of our specialties is the off-road (safari) conversion of various Porsche models such as the classic 911 or the Porsche Cayenne.
Here you have the opportunity to purchase our unique Porsche 911 Safari . The vehicle is a special build which was implemented by our workshop and our body builder. The basis was a very well-preserved German Porsche 911 3.2 from 1986 which was originally silver. The Porsche was completely dismantled and the bodywork was lovingly done by hand (no GRP!). The vehicle was then completely painted and rebuilt or reassembled. At the same time, the engine was completely overhauled and can therefore be stated as having a mileage of 0 km. The gearbox was also overhauled and is equipped with a differential lock.
The following work was carried out on the vehicle:
– A very well-preserved (without defects or body damage) Porsche 911 3.2 G-model with first registration in Germany served as the basis.
– The vehicle was completely dismantled and ice-blasted
– The body was rebuilt. All fenders were new, the bumpers were adjusted and shortened. All add-on parts were adjusted accordingly.
– The body was completely dismantled and painted in the Porsche color black olive.
– The engine is the original 231 HP 3.2L engine and has been completely overhauled.
– The gearbox is also the original 915 gearbox which has also been completely overhauled and has a shorter gear ratio. This means it is adapted to the larger wheel circumference. It is fitted with a differential lock.
– The vehicle was then completely rebuilt with new parts. From the chassis to the brakes to the interior. Everything has been newly installed.
The following parts were also installed:
– Chassis converted with new shock absorbers (lifted)
– Rims 7×16 and 8×16 with special off-road tires
– Rear lid with ducktail in a special design
– Individually adapted bumpers
– Original headlights converted to approved LED
– Sports exhaust system DP Motorsport with TÜV
– Some smaller details such as specially painted Porsche crest etc. (see pictures)
– 100 liter fuel tank
– Engine optics kept in series
– Black roof liner
– Lightweight carpet set
– The vehicle was specially insulated (interior)
– Roll cage painted in black with approval
– Original Porsche sports steering wheel
– Gear lever converted to original Porsche shortened gearshift
– Blaupunkt Classic Radio Bremen
– Rallye sports seats
– Speedometer was adjusted to the larger wheel circumference
– Door panels were converted to RS
The vehicle has been run in for 200 kilometers and will be sold (if to Germany) with a new MOT / AU. The Porsche can also be driven in everyday life. Our Safari can be viewed at any time after telephone consultation.
