The vehicle in detail

All invoices and documents from 1971 to today are available.

The vehicle was painted once (date unknown), but it was before 2001.

Mileage of the overhauled engine and transmission (2002) 38,317 km.

Technical details:

Heat exchangers are made of stainless steel.

PERTRONIX contactless ignition system (maintenance-free); all ignition components have been replaced.

Front axle sway bar OEM retrofitted.

Tie rods were replaced with those of the 930 Turbo, greatly improved and more direct steering.

Suspension bushings replaced. New shock absorbers front and rear. New lower ball joints on the front axle.

New fuel lines.

New brake system: master brake cylinder, all four brake calipers, brake discs, brake hoses, and brake fluid replaced.

New clutch cable.

New alternator from ALC, new regulator and the batteries are also new.

Further details: Entire interior, including carpet and dashboard, renewed. Supplier was Lakewell in Belgium, known for its high-quality components. Parts cost 10,000 euros alone, invoice is available.

The tank was removed during the interior inspection and resealed from the outside. A new internal filter was installed. Carpet in the trunk is also new.

The vehicle is being sold with extensive documentation for the car and maintenance instructions. This includes the invoice from September 20, 1971, when the car was personally picked up by the first owner in Stuttgart. All previous owners and countries in which I was allowed to take this 911 since 2001 are available.

The vehicle registration documents are, of course, included: USA, Germany, Spain, Romania. In total, this Targa has moved with me seven times, and was always transported by specialized companies. The original owner’s manual from 1971 is available in German and English.

Third owner of this classic before me was Nick Anderson, a well-known cartoonist and 2005 Pulitzer Prize winner from the USA. When I bought this 911 from him, he was working for “The Courier-Journal” in Louisville, Kentucky.

All special tools are included in the sale (portable CO tester, MFI special tools, etc.). Those who like to do all the work on the car themselves know how important and expensive these are. Stored spare parts are also included in the sale (e.g. the complete, original US instrument set).

The car also comes with a high end storage system from PERMABAG, with this, the car can always be parked/stored with optimal protection and humidity. This system alone, with its regenerable drying containers, has a value of 1500 euros.

This 911 doesn’t need anything technically, there’s absolutely no extra maintenance necessary right now.

It’s a very honest and beautiful vehicle that wants to be driven! Not just a car for exhibitions, but for enjoyment. A real-time machine with a very subtle patina that doesn’t give away its age. For 53 years, this 911 has continued to be an eye-catcher and is often the model for photos at traffic lights. So if you want to drive this Porsche and get through traffic unseen, I’m afraid I have to disappoint you.

The engine with its MFI is a pleasure; it gets by with 10 to 11 l/100 km with moderate driving and responds to the accelerator like a modern car. Thanks to the contactless and invisible PERTRONIX ignition, the engine runs perfectly; points are a thing of the past. The car always starts and runs stable immediately (video).

Unfortunately, there is just one problem: within a very short time, you want to drive it more! A typical case of the well-known “Take the long way home” syndrome.

For buyers in Spain: The car has a Spanish, historic registration and MOT until 2027. Thanks to the H registration, it can be driven anywhere, including in central Madrid, and is tax-free. The car is currently fully insured with Classic Cover in ESP. The contract can, of course, be taken over. Ready to be driven immediately and without restrictions.
