Based on the Porsche 924 Turbo, the Carrera GT incorporated all of Porsche's racing expertise.
In the Carrera GT, the front fenders, the rear widening, as well as the bumper and front aprons were made of ultra-light and very stable polyurethane with 20% glass fiber content in order to accommodate the wider track and tires required for racing. To reduce the weight even further, windows made of thinner glass were installed and the windshield was glued to reduce the Cd value - body construction for the race track and not just for show.
For racing, however, it was not enough just to modify the body. The engine output was increased from 170 hp to 210 hp thanks to forged pistons, a larger turbo, a modified crankshaft, an adapted cylinder head, a higher compression ratio and an additional intercooler. And also thanks to the use of the new Hartig ignition system with computer control, which allowed the ignition timing to be adapted to the different conditions at full and part load and the basic compression ratio to be increased to 8.5:1.
These are just a few of the many modifications made to this vehicle by the Porsche racing department. Anyone who has ever really got to grips with the Carrera GT quickly realizes how undervalued this vehicle still is - but there was a time when the Porsche 356 Carrera 1600 GT was not yet the priceless vehicle it is today....
With only 406 units produced worldwide, the 924 Carrera GT was already an absolute rarity when it first appeared. Today, there are said to be only 250 of them left in running order worldwide, as many vehicles have been converted into racing cars or have been involved in accidents.
For these reasons, we are all the more pleased to be able to offer you here AGAIN a rare 924 Carrera GT, in absolutely NEW car-like condition. Don't be fooled by the mileage compared to the other Carrera GT's from Europe. The Carrera GT only has a 5-digit odometer which, in the case of some vehicles with a poor history, is often glossed over with "mileage according to speedometer". This is definitely not the case here - although even a mileage of 47,700 km would be plausible in terms of condition, this Carrera GT only comes from 2nd hand, has an absolutely perfect history and is one of the few Swiss vehicles that existed.
