This example is a 1986 928 4.7 S with 300hp. The car has been under canvas inside for years. And has been taken out of the barn for pleasure drives. The car has been owned by the previous owner for 19 years and ready for new adventures!

“Porsche is striking a new path! More comfort yet sporty, also called a Grand Tourer(GT). All this to keep long distances enjoyable as well.” Before that, the 928 came on the market, a replacement for the Porsche 911. A completely new concept, even the engine was no longer in the back, but in the front. And the block was water-cooled for the first time. Well, as everyone knows, the 928 did not become the replacement for the 911. Because that (fortunately) just stayed in production. The Porsche 928 was in production from 1977 to 1995, producing no less than 61,000 units.

The vehicle in detail

Appearance & Performance

When we talk about appearance of a 928, there is plenty to talk about! This car hides so many beautiful details! First of all but something iconic from that era, the flip headlights, fantastic! But there is really so much more: If you look at the front, you see sharp corners a sporty look. If you look at the rear of the car you see curves and lots of glass, actually a completely different picture. Still to emphasize the sportiness, look a how low this Porsche is! Inside the car we see very comfortable seats with seat heating. Fun fact: when adjusting your steering wheel, your display goes with it!

Engine-wise, the 928 is also different from the 911. The engine is located in the front of the car, and is not a 6-cylinder but a V8! The gearbox is located right here on the rear axle. This ensures that this Porsche also has a perfect weight balance. That is something they are good at at Porsche after all. The Porsche 928 is the first water-cooled Porsche. The block of the 928 is indestructible. In addition, the 928s are all galvanized this has ensured that so many are still in top condition.

Bijzonderheden

“Porsche slaat een nieuwe weg in! Meer comfort en toch sportief, ook wel een Grand Tourer(GT) genoemd. Dit alles om lange afstanden ook plezierig te houden.”

Daarvoor kwam de 928 op de markt, een vervanger voor de Porsche 911. Een volledig nieuw concept, zelfs de motor ligt niet meer achterin, maar voorin. En het blok werd voor het eerst watergekoeld.

Goed, zoals iedereen weet is de 928 niet de vervanger van de 911 geworden. Want die bleef(gelukkig) gewoon in productie. De Porsche 928 was van 1977 tot 1995 in productie, dit leverde maar liefst 61.000 exemplaren op.

Uitstraling & Performance

Als we het over uitstraling hebben van een 928 is er genoeg om over te praten! Deze auto verbergt zoveel mooie details! Aller eerst maar iets iconisch uit die tijd, de klap koplampen, fantastisch! Maar er is echt nog veel meer: Bekijk je de voorkant, dan zie je scherpe hoeken een sportief uiterlijk. Kijk je naar de achterkant van de auto zie je rondingen en veel glas, eigenlijk een heel ander beeld. Om toch de sportiviteit maar eens te benadrukken, kijk een hoe laag deze Porsche ligt! Binnen in de auto zien we zeer comfortabele stoelen met stoelverwarming. Leuk weetje/feitje: bij het verstellen van je stuur gaat je display mee!

Ook motorisch zit een 928 anders in elkaar dan de 911. Het motorblok ligt namelijk voorin de auto, en is geen 6-cilinder maar een V8! De versnellingsbak ligt hierbij juist op de achteras. Die zorgt er voor dat ook deze Porsche een perfecte gewichtsbalans heeft. Dat is iets waar ze bij Porsche toch goed in zijn. De Porsche 928 is de eerste watergekoelde Porsche. Het blok van de 928 is onverwoestbaar. Daarnaast zijn de 928’s allemaal verzinkt dit heeft er voor gezorgd dat er nog zoveel in topconditie zijn.

Dit exemplaar is een 928 4.7 S uit 1986 met 300pk. De auto heeft jaren lang binnen onder doek gestaan. En is voor plezier ritjes uit de schuur gehaald. De auto is 19 jaar in bezit geweest van de vorige eigenaar en klaar voor nieuwe avonturen!
