Upon debut, the 2016 Boxster Spyder was the lightest Porsche available, and naturally the Stuttgart manufacturer paired it with the largest and most powerful engine fitted to their mid-engine sports car. Shoehorned in was a 3.8-liter flat-six making 375 horsepower, mated to an engaging six-speed manual transmission, the combination of which saw the creation of the ultimate variant of the Boxster line.

To achieve its featherlite curb weight of 2,899 pounds, the Boxster went on a diet.
