Technology & Performance. The most significant technical distinction of this Carrera 4S is the factory-installed X51 Powerkit. As a result, the naturally aspirated 3.8-liter six-cylinder boxer engine delivers 430 pk, whereas the standard Carrera 4S of this generation delivers 400 pk.
The X51 Powerkit encompasses more than just modified engine electronics. For this high-output version, Porsche modified various engine and engine cooling components to extract the higher power from the naturally aspirated 3.8-liter boxer engine. The additional intercooler in this car is also part of the enhanced cooling system. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via the 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK). The Sport Chrono Package Plus, dynamic engine mounts, PASM, and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus round out the dynamic driving configuration.
According to Porsche, the standard 991.1 Carrera 4S Cabriolet with PDK and Sport Chrono accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 4.3 seconds. Thanks to the X51 Powerkit, this car delivers 430 pk, matching the power output of the later naturally aspirated 991.1 GTS models.
