Continuing the tradition of excellence through perpetual engineering improvements, the 992-generation 911 brought new styling, a dramatically updated interior, and, of course, ever greater performance over the 991 it replaced. As has become usual, Porsche released both standard Carrera and higher performance Carrera S models simultaneously, each powered once again by a twin-turbocharged 3.0L Flat-6 producing 379hp for the standard model and 443hp for the S. Both variants were offered with rear or all wheel drive and, for S models, a choice between the standard eight-speed PDK automatic and a no-cost seven-speed manual.

With 0-60mph times dropping as much as 0.4 seconds from 991.2-generation models, the 992 rewards drivers with the sensational feel and performance enthusiasts have loved since the first generation 911. As you may already be aware, for 2025, Porsche announced the facelifted “992.2”, a car that is (at the time of writing) no longer readily available with a manual transmission outside of a few select models. Therefore, the 2020-2024 911s may very well be the last of its kind and all the more desirable for it.
