Technology & Performance
The 992 GT3 is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter six-cylinder boxer engine producing 510 pk (375 kW) and 470 Nm of torque. Maximum power is delivered at 8,400 rpm, and the engine can rev all the way up to 9,000 rpm. The engine is based on the technology of the 911 GT3 R and is closely related to the powerplant in the 911 GT3 Cup. In this car, power is transmitted to the rear wheels via the 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), which has been specifically tuned for the GT3.
The performance figures are impressive: from a standstill, the GT3 accelerates to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and to 200 km/h in 10.8 seconds. The top speed is 318 km/h.
The suspension also clearly distinguishes this generation of the GT3 from a standard 911. The 992 GT3 was the first to feature a double-wishbone front suspension, a design that has its origins in motorsports. Combined with the GT3-specific rear-axle steering, PASM, PTV Plus, and the extensive aerodynamics featuring a swan-neck rear wing, the car has been developed entirely with maximum precision and feedback in mind.
This particular GT3 also features Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB). The ceramic brake rotors combine extremely high braking capacity with significantly lower unsprung weight. At the same time, the front-axle lift system ensures added convenience for driving on public roads.
The Clubsport Package, full bucket seats, carbon-fiber roof, PCCB, and 90-liter fuel tank round out the technical configuration. This is a GT3 that has been meticulously engineered, yet thanks to options such as the lift system, BOSE audio, ParkAssistent, and a rearview camera, it’s also ideal for use off the track.
