A six-speed transmission with short ratios, an increasingly flexible 272-horsepower engine, improved electronics, an updated interior, and a thorough restyling were a hit with Porsche enthusiasts, and beyond. The car was unanimously acclaimed worldwide, and in its first year of production alone, the company churned out over 12,000 coupés and convertibles: the Italian subsidiary had underestimated sales figures, forcing not so much private dealers, but especially the official network to source directly from the parent company to fulfill customer orders.
This is the case of this 993 Carrera Cabrio, MY’94, Indian Red with black leather interior, sold on August 29, 1994 by the Porsche Autoimport dealership in Chieti to its first owner.
Here’s a list of optional extras:
139 Left seat heater
233 Assembly line tire change
333 Paris RCR-41 radio
340 Right seat heater
398 17″ Cup wheels
551 Wind deflector
573 Air conditioning
659 Trip computer
At the Porsche dealership in Chieti, where it was sold, the car received regular maintenance until it passed into the hands of its second owner in 2009. Further services were performed at the official dealership, and the car was transferred to a customer of ours in 2019. He owned it for six years before it passed to its current owner last year.
The car currently has 174,500 km on the clock: in addition to routine maintenance, the original radio has been replaced with a late 1990s Becker Porsche, the original sound kit (intake and exhaust pipes) has been installed, and the bodywork has been freshened. (sound body, accident-free) and the convertible top has been replaced.
Complete with all the original accessories (tool kit, jack, compressor, owner’s manual, service booklet), the car is delivered with the original wind deflector and convertible top cover, and already has an ASI Certificate of Historical Importance.
