1997 Porsche 993 Carrera Cabriolet
The 993 is the final air-cooled generation of the 911, and this Cabriolet represents the end of an era before Porsche switched to water cooling. The VarioRam flat-six produces 285 ps and 340 Nm through a six-speed manual to the rear wheels, with an intake system that switches to a shorter path at 5,000 rpm for a noticeable surge of power. The electric soft top opens fully in under twenty seconds. This car has remained in German hands for 27 years, passing through only two private owners.
Fun fact: the VarioRam engine was the first Porsche flat-six with a variable intake system. At low revs a long intake path builds torque, at high revs the engine switches to a shorter path for power.
