Unlike the 964 RS, the 993 RS has a larger engine. The 993 RS uses the 2mm larger 102mm bore of the racing car, which resulted in a displacement increase to 3746cc, enough to qualify under the German taxation system as a 3.8 liter engine. Other engine upgrades included larger valves and ports and strengthened valvetrain, resulting in 300hp. Other enhancements included seam-welded chassis, strut tower bar, more aggressive suspension with adjustable sway bars, 18” modular wheels with rolled fenders to clear them, ABD (automatic braking differential, to provide both traction control and a slip limiting function), enlarged brakes from the 993 Twin Turbo, and an aluminum front deck lid. Many features were deleted, although some could be added in as options, including airbags, air conditioning, electric windows and mirrors, central locking, sunroof, standard door interior trim panels, and some sound proofing. Thinner glass was fitted as standard. Externally, a new front bumper, side skirts, and rear wing were fitted and the result was a car that weighed 220 pounds less than a standard rear wheel drive 993 Carrera coupe.

While 964 RS specifications tended to be fairly uniform from car to car, the larger number of options on the 993 RS means the cars were optioned to varying degrees. This particular car is ideally equipped for the enthusiast, finished in the iconic but surprisingly rare shade of Riviera blue and originally fitted with the Clubsport aero package (bigger rear wing and front splitter) and bucket seats. Notably absent are common 993 RS options including electric windows, air conditioning, and airbags, the latter of which means the car has the three spoke steering wheel which was also used on the GT1 Strassenversion.

This car was sold new by Autocentri Balduina in Rome, Italy on the 31st of August 1995. It remained in Italy until 2013 and was consistently serviced by its original selling dealer or the official Porsche dealer Autofficina Marocco Enzo & C in Fondi until it was exported. It then briefly belonged to a French owner before passing on to a long-term Dutch keeper who owned the car from 2014 to 2025. In June 2025, the car was imported to the United States.

The car is extremely clean and unmodified, and remains in its original specification as confirmed by its options stickers (on the underside of the front deck lid and in the maintenance book) and the included Porsche Birth Certificate. The maintenance book has extensive stamps showing the accumulation of kilometers over the years as well as the consistency with which the car has been serviced. The car comes with its original tools, owner’s manual pack, and various hard to find documents specific to the 993 RS including RS owner’s manual supplement, Porsche Service Information Technical Supplement, and press kit.
